April in Palm Springs means it's time for one thing: Coachella. This mega music festival brings dozens of rock, hip hop, indie and electronica artists to the Indio Polo Grounds for two weekends of festivities. Whether you're attending the festival or not, April in the desert is filled with poolside events and after-parties that keep the Coachella vibe rolling.

This year, the masterminds behind Coachella are bringing a free block party to downtown Palm Springs on April 17th. Tachevah will be held in the Spa Resort Casino parking lot, bringing three local bands and Coachella performer Passion Pit to perform. DJ Alf Alpha, a regular face on the Coachella circuit who frequently spins at The Ace Hotel, will keep the music going between sets, and a beer garden is in the works, too. This mini-Coachella will run from 6-11 pm and is open to the public.
From April 18-20, you can head to downtown's latest hot spot, Bar, to experience their take on Coachella. Bar's own "BarChella" weekend will feature three nights of music, DJs and craft cocktails at their chic lounge on Palm Canyon Drive.

If you'd rather lounge by the pool, The Ace Hotel's Desert Gold party runs through April 21st. The marathon event includes poolside DJs, live music in the Amigo Room and a pop-up record shop.
If you're coming to Palm Springs later in the month, The Ace has plenty of evening events to keep the party going. Think DJ-fueled dance parties, karaoke, bingo nights and the monthly World Famous party on May 4, a night of dancing and crafting hosted by DJ Alf Alpha and the Coachella Valley Art Scene.
