Downtown San Diego Hotels Are Located near the Action

You're flying into San Diego for a short stay and need to dine, eat and play within walking distance of your hotel. Or, perhaps you're doing business at the Convention Center or want to park your family a short drive away from Balboa Park, Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. Downtown San Diego is where it's at. Hotels range from family-friendly to booming with nightlife. All have prime shopping and award-winning restaurants within walking distance, along with access to public transportation, such as the San Diego Trolley.

The US Grant, built in 1910 in memory of Ulysses S. Grant, is the most historical hotel in the area. Recipient of a multi-million dollar recent facelift and home to a $6.5 million art gallery, The US Grant remains a popular choice for business and leisure travelers due to it's mix of heritage and modern conveniences.

For longer stays and family-friendly accommodations, the Residence Inn San Diego Downtown/Gaslamp provides many conveniences of home including a living room and fully-stocked kitchen. It's near the Convention Center and Gaslamp restaurants.

Hipsters may prefer a trendier hotel such as Andaz San Diego or the Hard Rock where bottle service, DJs and beautiful people are just steps away from your room on weekend nights, but we do not recommend these two for families on the weekend due to late-night noise.

Have a look at our list of San Diego's 10 best Downtown hotels. There's bound to be one that suits your needs.
