10 Best Hotels near Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego

Usually, people in need of hotels near Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego are coming for football. The San Diego Chargers NFL football team and San Diego State University Aztecs both play home games here. In addition, the stadium hosts the annual Holiday Bowl and Poinsettia Bowl as well as a few other major events during the off-season.

With this and the festive nature of a football game in mind, considering hotels near San Diego Trolley stops are an excellent idea. This ride on public transportation is cost-effective, helps avoid the stadium parking lot and allows one to get into the spirit of things, if you will. Yes, it's a bit crowded on game days but most fans think it's worth it. The trolley allows one to consider hotels as far away as the Gaslamp Quarter without needing a car to get to Qualcomm Stadium, however, this list includes hotels in and around the Mission Valley neighborhood.

The good news is that Mission Valley is just minutes from downtown, which is also accessible by trolley, making it an excellent place to base you and/or the family for a San Diego vacation. Hotels here are typically less expensive (and also less glamorous) than downtown options, too.

From budget hotels to nice four-star chains, there are plenty of places to rest your head after a game.
