Best of San Diego's Little Italy: Ask anyone about Pappalecco's and they'll probably mention gelato. Why? Because it's reminiscent of the real deal and handmade daily. Though you can't really go wrong here from the espresso to the baked goods. There's a few tables on the inside but seating is primarily al fresco where pets are welcome. The staff is mostly Italian and makes you feel welcome as if you're in their own homes. Try the Italian prosciutto, tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil panini or the pecorino bruschetta with baked pecorino cheese, toasted bread, honey, basil, arucola, walnuts. Just please don't forget to order gelato for dessert?
