In town for a big game?

Thousands of people every year make an NFL football game the cornerstone of their vacation plans. But 2016 is special: Super Bowl 50, held in Santa Clara at Levi's Stadium but officially hosted by San Francisco.

Whether you're coming from near or far, we've got a great list of hotels near Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, home of the San Francisco 49ers. (New York Giants fans who drive to East Rutherford will understand the end of that last sentence.)

Although Santa Clara is a charming town on the beautiful San Francisco peninsula, well, let's face it, it's not San Francisco. So we've put together a list of hotels that are near to the stadium but not too far from all the great hotspots that San Francisco has to offer.

For example, who comes all the way out to the Bay Area but skips walking over the Golden Gate Bridge? Or eating in Chinatown? Or shopping in Union Square?

(We could go on and on. So we will.)

Having a cappuccino in North Beach? Or strolling along the revamped Embarcadero? Or dancing the night away in the happening and hipcentric Mission neighborhood?

Don't worry, though: these hotels are close enough to the stadium to get you to the game by kick-off. If you want the best of San Francisco, but also want a quick and clear path to your beloved football game, check out our list.
