Just when we thought weekends in Santa Barbara couldn't get any better, the Bacara Resort and Spa introduces "Que Syrah," a weekly painting class that also features local wines.

At it's core, Que Syrah is a two-hour al fresco landscape painting class, with instruction by renown landscape artist Leigh Sparks. Sparks is a Santa Barbara native whose works are featured every Sunday at the Santa Barbara Arts & Crafts show on Cabrillo Boulevard. Her step-by-step guidance will help you create a masterpiece (and a truly unique souvenir).
But it's the addition of local wine that makes this class a standout among the rest. The Bacara Resort and Spa invites you to sip and savor while you paint en plein air. Sample a crisp white or robust red made from grapes grown less than an hour away. It's certain to inspire your work for, in the words of Robert Louis Stevenson, "Wine is bottled poetry."
And there's one more thing we haven't yet mentioned: the ocean views. The Bacara Resort and Spa sits on a stretch of relatively untouched coastline, providing stunning natural surroundings that can't be topped.
Que Syrah is offered every Saturday from 3-5pm. Participation costs $55 and advanced reservations are required. Supplies are included in participation fee. Call (805) 571-2011 to book your perfect afternoon now.
