Boulder not only boasts the Flatirons and Chautauqua Park, where you can hike your heart happy, but it also sits at the mouth of Boulder Canyon. This scenic landform features some of the best rock climbing and bouldering in the Front Range and affords climbers the perfect opportunity to hone their skills while having a killer time.

Get happy at Happy Hour Crag

An excellent place to cut your teeth in Boulder Canyon is the popular Happy Hour Crag, aptly named for its relatively simple routes and ease of access. Many climbers who work in Boulder stop off after work to get in a route or two.

Some popular climbs include "Are We Not Men," "Tipsy" and "I, Robot."

Become kings and queens of climbing at Castle Rock

As one of the easiest spots to access in the canyon, Castle Rock is perfect for those who don't care for long approaches or want to have their vehicle nearby. Sitting just off the road, this giant monolith boasts sport, trad and multi-pitch climbing, as well as bouldering.

Some favorite routes include "Cussin' Crack" and the challenging 5.13d known as "Deadline."

Take a climbing vacation at The Riviera

For a scenic view of the canyon as you climb and finish routes, The Riviera is not to be rivaled. This sunny climbing spot is easily accessible and has a good deal of trees at the base of climbs for shade.

Some fun routes include "New Lease on Life," "Au Natural" and "Birthday Suit."

Be sure to try out these unforgettable spots and discover some of your own as you rock out in Boulder Canyon.
