For the thrifty shopper
Stop: Known for its variety of shopping, Pearl Street is where you'll find high-end fashion, home decor and artwork. However, for the thrifty, bargain seekers out there, Boulder Art Mart is your one-stop shop for paintings, prints and local jewelry. If you're looking to adorn your closet, Buffalo Exchange or HIP Consignment can help you without offending your bank account.
Skip: 29th Street Mall. Well, only. Many may venture to 29th Street Mall to do their shopping while visiting Boulder, but don't overlook all that Pearl Street has to offer: Prana, Patagonia and Athleta for you outdoor and workout junkies; Peppercorn's for all of your kitchen needs; and American Apparel for the hipster in you.
Beer, glorious beer
Stop: The words Boulder and beer are becoming mutually exclusive these days. And you'll find no better place to experience both than at Pearl Street's Mountain Sun Pub. This local beer haven features delicious pub-grub and some of the finest micro-brews in all of Colorado.

Skip: Though it's a good spot, you should probably skip Old Chicago as your go-to beer joint while in Boulder. You're simply doing yourself a disservice, when so many local, non-chain micro-breweries can be found all over Pearl and the City at large. Support Old Chicago back home (They certainly deserve it, with their extensive beer collection.), but support local breweries while you're Bouldering.
The finest of dining
Stop: Pearl offers every type of sustenance you could possibly dream of and more, so dining is by far the most difficult category to narrow down. That being said, you'd be remiss if you didn't stop into The Kitchen Cafe and treat yourself to a fine dining experience. Looking for something more wallet-friendly? Pizzeria Locale, The Yellow Deli and Illegal Petes are all Boulder favorites that offer unique dishes, fun atmospheres and bang for your buck.

Skip: Anything "corporate" or "chain," such as the Cheese Cake Factory. Hey, not to hate on these establishments, but you can visit these places back home. While you're in Boulder, be sure to treat yourself to local tastes and skip the familiar.
Get your dance on
Stop: There are plenty of places to shake your groove thang on Pearl Street, but one establishment stands out: The St. Julien Hotel and Spa. Surprised? This high-end hotel may not seem like much of a place to get down, but most Friday nights, you'll find a stellar band and people of all ages dancing in their beautiful lobby, which has a bar nearby. You'll have no trouble loosening up.
Skip: Unless you're into a hip-hop, club-like atmosphere, skip Absinthe House. It's best to stick with St. Julien's or a local pub if you wanna move your feet.
So make your picks, remember what to skip and take Pearl Street by storm!
