The arched sign across Washington Avenue reads: “Howdy, Folks! Welcome to Golden!” is your welcome to the small town/big city charm of Golden.  Less than 40 miles from the Denver International Airport (DIA), Golden is north of I-70 and west of Denver at the foot of the Rocky Mountains.  The city’s slogan, “Where the West Lives” captures the spirit of this historic downtown, former territorial capital of Colorado.

Home to popular free group tours and beer samples at the Coors Brewery, Golden also boasts a spectacular view from Lookout Mountain, including a must-stop at Buffalo Bill Cody’s museum and grave site.  The stunning Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater is a world-famous amphitheater carved into the landscape.

Dotted along the main street are historic landmarks, quaint shops, antique stores and restaurants, bookended by two hotels with first-class dining and accommodations: The Golden Hotel and Table Mountain Inn.

From hiking, biking and parasailing to sampling a Coors brew and unique shopping, Golden is a perfect stop on your Denver, Colorado vacation.
