The arched sign across Washington Avenue reads: “Howdy, Folks! Welcome to Golden!” is your welcome to the small town/big city charm of Golden.  Less than 40 miles from the Denver International Airport (DIA), Golden is north of I-70 and west of Denver at the foot of the Rocky Mountains.  The city’s slogan, “Where the West Lives” captures the spirit of this historic downtown, former territorial capital of Colorado.

Home to popular free group tours and beer samples at the Coors Brewery, Golden also boasts a spectacular view from Lookout Mountain, including a must-stop at Buffalo Bill Cody’s museum and grave site.  The stunning Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater is a world-famous amphitheater carved into the landscape.

It's worth the scenic drive alone from downtown Golden via the twisty and curvy mountain road to the top of Lookout Mountain where the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave are located. The Buffalo Bill Museum is a look into the life and times of one of Denver’s favorite Old West character, William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody. Step onto the deck of the Museum Observation Deck for breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountain Front Range.  Shop the Museum’s gift shop. Pick up some food at their restaurant, or bring your own for a picnic.  Hikers can opt for a short one-mile mountain trail connecting the Buffalo Bill Museum to the Lookout Mountain Nature Center.

For lunch, the house favorite chicken tortillas is always a favorite starter, or opt for the unusual and order our Buffalo Reuben with a side of sweet potato fries.

Table Mountain Grill & Cantina is also a perfect stop for an evening meal, with choices ranging from Mesa BBQ Pork Ribs, fresh rainbrow trout, filet mignon, fire-roasted chili rellenos or chicken enchiladas – and the perfect sweet finish: chocolate taco or cinnamon fried ice cream.


Smack in the heart of Downtown Golden, CO, The Buffalo Rose is a local hang out, bar and nightclub, and a venue often featuring open mic and  live music -- sometimes even national acts. Music varies greatly, ranging from blues to hip-hop to rock n'roll and everything in between.   Open 7 days a week and ready to offer you a cold one and a full menu.

The historic building might not make your list of upscale nightlife, but if you're in Golden, chances are you'll stop by this historic, dive nightclub for some entertainment.
