9 Silvermine Tavern
Your best bet for live jazz, the Silvermine hosts regional bands Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Classic American dishes like chicken pot pie satisfy guests, who enjoy the restaurant's nostalgic atmosphere and old-fashioned farmhouse-style decor. 8 The Loft
It may be a 20 minute drive from Greenwich, but this is the one of the area's most popular cocktail spots and it's easy to see why. Exposed brick walls, orange lighting and a wrought iron staircase flank this impressive two-level space, and weekly 80s nights on Thursday and frequent live bands on Friday and Saturday keep the party going. Be sure to try the decadent chocolate martini, awarded the best "chocolate indulgence" in the nation by Food Network. (203-838-6555)

7 Beachhouse Cafe
Something's always happening at this popular eatery and bar, housed in a charming white storefront in Old Greenwich. Offering seafood, salads, burgers and more, the menu has crowd appeal, as does the sparkling interior and drink list. Over 30 wines, a martini menu and 12 beers on draft, including Stella Artois, Guinness and Samuel Adams, highlight the bar's selection. Their famous Grateful Dead night draws a crowd on Wednesdays, and live bands perform Thursday-Saturday nights at 10pm. (203-637-0367)

6 Thirsty Turtle
This watering hole in nearby Stamford hosts fun Friday night dance parties, featuring energetic DJs and lots of drink specials. Comedy acts frequently appear on Saturdays, and other events including live music performances and karaoke take place throughout the week. (203-973-0300)

5 g-r-a-n-d
DJs four nights a week, lounge furniture and a busy bar scene have earned this spot its reputation as a desirable entertainment venue. Large windows and clean lines flank the cosmopolitan space, and a curving straircase leads to the second floor dining area. Plates of party food and dressed-up mains emanate from the kitchen. Nibble on a small plate of mac and cheese with truffles and gruyere or the beef tenderloin with horseradish potatoes if you need something more substantial. (203-323-3232)

4 Barcelona Restaurant and Wine Bar
An attractive spot to grab dinner or drinks, this restaurant and wine bar offers several creative menu options. A bowl of of paella, served family style, feeds up to six people., and a Barcelona sampler includes 6+ tapas dishes. Among the flavorful bites are softshell crab with hearts of palm and roasted pepper salad, and sherry braised beef short-rib. 3 L'escale
A lovely covered patio flanks this harborside restaurant, and a rustic French fireplace and terracotta floor accent the tasteful interior. Inspired by the flavors of Provence, the menu offers wonders such as potato-crusted seabass with haricot vert and champagne truffle sauce. Outfitted with an oak and pewter bar and charming decor, the adjacent lounge features specialty cocktails (cleverly named after the seven heavenly virtues), champagne and more. 2 Baang Café and Bar
The innovative dishes that make up this interesting menu include a variety of selections that tastefully blend the refinement of Asian cuisine with the vigor of California attitude. Calamari salad and Szechwan Lobster Crepes with plum wine and lobster cream sauce are two popular examples. The atmosphere is New York-chic and full of energy, and the waitstaff radiates an offbeat demeanor. This is one of those establishments that people go to in order to see and be seen as much as to enjoy a satisfying meal. There are DJs on Friday nights. 1 MacKenzie's Grill Room
Nachos and beer with a big screen TV. What better way to watch the big game? This popular sports bar is a favorite for its great appetizers and relaxed atmosphere.
