Not too many places of business have made a splash in Puerto Viejo de Limon. Most come and go somewhat quietly, but not Koki Beach Restaurant & Bar.
Ever since its grand opening in 2008, Koki Beach has made its presence known. With brightly-painted furniture and a well-lit beachfront space, an excellent music selection that can be heard while passing by and large-scale, creative displays that change with the seasons to decorate the entranceway, Koki Beach is not to be missed. There really is no other place better to enjoy cocktails before or after dark than in one of Koki Beach's colorful Adirondack chairs, perched on their wooden deck, overlooking the main road and the water's edge just a few feet away. The music always seems to suit the mood, and if it rains, you can just move to a seat under the overhang. The staff of locals is professional and friendly, always on hand to fetch you another cocktail or suggest something fun to do the next day.
If you stay long enough, you're bound to end up partying the night away here, even though the place technically closes at 11 p.m. Although they have a full dinner menu and an excellent chef in the kitchen, there's no pressure to order, and you may be satisfied with an appetizer such as the succulent ceviche or the creative Caribbean burrito.
