There has been a surge of new venues that offer a different scene from the Duval Street bars and restaurants which boast 2-for-1 shots and loud, shout-a-long-music. Part restaurant, part cigar lounge and part blues club, the 90 Mile Lounge is still finding its place in Key West, but is well on its way to being a new favorite. With such a close proximity to Cuba (located 90 miles south), Key West has had a long history with the cigar industry. Several shops sell cigars and a handful of lounges exist, but 90 Mile Lounge is adding its own twist and prides itself on being the “southernmost cigar lounge.” The staff at the downstairs cigar shop can help you choose a cigar, and knowledgeable bartenders can help you find a scotch or cocktail to match.
Open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant serves up sliders on soft pretzel rolls, quesadillas, peel-and eat-shrimp and fresh salads. Comfortable seating and a breezy patio create a classy, yet casual atmosphere. Talented blues and jazz musicians take to the stage each night, happy hour starts early and the rooftop patio helps keep the cigar smoke to a minimum so non-smokers can still enjoy the venue.
