You've been out in the heat for maybe thirty seconds before the "pool butler" approaches. Would you like some sunscreen on your back in those hard-to-reach spots? Why, how thoughtful. Evian mist on your face? Sure! Chilled scented towels to cool you down? Reading materials? Fruit sorbets served throughout the day? Let's face it: Sunbathing has never been so easy. Or so luxurious.
Thank the Mandarin Oriental, Miami for adding cool-down glamor to what is typically a sweaty activity. The chic hotel has slipped in a new, elevated pool lounge area between the infinity pool and the adjacent beach. Complete with jaunty orange and red chaise lounges, the deck offers sails and white umbrellas to shade guests from the sun, which itself changes from orange to white hot, depending on the time of day and season.
And if that's not enough, you can soothe yourself at the Oasis Pool Cafe, where sushi and light snacks are offered. Or make arrangements to work on your tan on Sundays, when the hotel serves a pool- and beach-side brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Flutes of Pommery Champagne and notes of cool-cat jazz complete the chill experience.
In fact, if you book a Biscayne Suite or Presidential Suite for a "Suite Sunday" package, brunch is complimentary. We can't think of a better way to add relaxation as well as melanin to your life.
