Pizza: Nestled in the heart of Kendall is one of the best slices of pizza in all of Miami. Best, that is, if you enjoy a flavorful, New York-style pie, that's extra cheesy and a little saucy. Vesuvio's opened in the mid-2000s and folks in the area haven't stopped singing its praises since. It's a hole-in-the-wall joint with little indoor seating, but there are a few benches on the outside making it a nice lunch spot. They're mainly a pizza place, but their sandwiches and salads are also noteworthy. If you're a garlic fan, don't leave without indulging in some of their extra-garlic-y rolls (you can even ask for extra garlic on the side if you're feeling bold). Prices are modest for the quality of the pizza, and they sell cannolis for dessert (which you can enjoy with some ice cream from the Carvel next door).
