Just like in the Petula Clark hit of old, the main action for Naples nightlife is downtown - on Fifth Avenue South and Third Street South. In the past decade, a new scene has been blossoming at the other, north end of town at the Mercato entertainment district - filled with clubs, pubs, restaurants and a state-of-the-art dine-in movie theater.
Partying tends to begin before nightfall in the Naples area, however, thanks to its warm sunshine and sparkly waterways. Every bit as iconic as its hip clubs, Naples beach bars, fish houses and chickee (thatched structures built by local native Americans) bars provide a party setting with a sense of place.
