The Dali Museum presents the annual Los Vinos de Dali wine and food event in April
Mix amazing art, live music, tasty bites and great wine at the Dali Museum's annual wine and food event Los Vinos de Dali.
This year's Los Vinos de Dali event will showcase boutique vintners sourced directly from California’s wine country, as well as delicious tapas from local restaurants in the St. Petersburg and Clearwater area.
Taking place in the Dali Museum’s lovely Avant-garden, the event – scheduled for Sunday, April 12, 2015 – is sure to dazzle the tastebuds, with a lushly landscaped tropical backdrop and the calm waters of Tampa Bay as the backdrop.
A number of the best local restaurants are participating in the event this year, including The Birchwood’s Birch & Vine and the brand new Locale Market and FarmTable Kitchen, the brainchild of celebrity chefs Michael Mina and Don Pintabona.
“Los Vinos is like an intimate gathering of food and wine lovers who appreciate unique wines as much as the stories of the wineries behind them,” says Sandy Tarazski, event organizer and Dali Museum Guild Member. “The event provides attendees with the rare opportunity to meet the vintners themselves while discovering new favorites.”
The Laird Family Estate, one of the showcased wineries, comes from the Napa Valley and has been growing premium grapes since 1970. Other unique wineries include the Masciarelli Wine Company, Uptick Wines, 2880 Napa Valley Wines and Robinson Family – a crowd favorite from last year that's famous for their unique winemaking traditions, as well as their varieties of vibrant red wines.
The event will run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Tickets are available for $75 per person online and include admission to the museum’s galleries, as well as the special exhibition Dali and da Vinci: Minds, Machines and Masterpieces. The event will include a silent auction, too.
Running now until July 26, 2015, the Dali and da Vinci exhibit features more than 75 works, including reproductions of da Vinci's diagrams, Dali manuscripts and paintings from the permanent collection, as well as reproductions of the invented objects both da Vinci and Dali proposed in advance of their times.
Explore five major thematic groupings that demonstrate the range and themes of how these two great artists used tools of art to explore math, anatomy, motion, religion and more.
Located on the waterfront in downtown St. Petersburg and listed on 10Best's best attractions in the area, the Dali Museum is home to a significant collection of Salvador Dali art, featuring more than 2,000 of the artist’s works.
While admission to the museum and this special exhibit is included in the Los Vinos de Dali event ticket price, general admission tickets to the museum are $24 per person.
