First, the craft beer revolution hit Tampa, and then the cocktail craze began. Bars and clubs around the city began developing or promoting their signature drinks and specialty cocktails to newly enthusiastic clientele. Now, a local entrepreneur is taking things a step further and has launched his own brand of artisan vodka.

Named Touch, this vodka is anything but ordinary. Nick Carbone, owner of Tampa-based Fat Dog Spirits, has developed an ultra-premium, handmade, small batch, artisan vodka.
Developing his taste since 2004, Carbone experimented with many different ingredients before settling on his current recipe, which is distilled from a mixture of grain and Florida wildflower honey. The honey is the root ingredient, providing earthiness and complexity. Making good use of local flavors to produce a truly unique tasting spirit, Carbone has developed Touch Florida Valencia Orange, Touch Florida Key Lime and Touch Florida Ruby Red Grapefruit varieties.
Since Touch Vodka launched officially in Tampa early in the summer of 2013, it has been receiving rave reviews and steadily gaining in popularity. Touch is only available in Tampa – so if you want to try it, you have to visit!
You can find this delicious taste of Florida at a handful of local bars, including Malio’s downtown, MacDinton's Irish Pub in SoHo and the Green Iguana and Gaspar’s Grotto in Ybor City. If you want to take a bottle home with you, the only liquor stores carrying Touch at this time are Best Buy Liquors and AJ’s Liquors in Brandon.
