9 L'Epi Dupin
This place is not known for interior design, but "cuisine", yes, definitively! At lunchtime, you're likely to find a bustling crowd at L'Epi Dupin, whereas evenings are somewhat quieter. Whatever time of day you attend, the rustic bistro is always packed with eager customers awaiting another extraordinary meal from chef François Pasteau. He's especially well-known for his filet of lamb with ratatouille and citrus and chestnut Lillet chaud-froid. With a prix fixe menu at €33, you can't go wrong! 8 Le Bristol
This beautifully refined hotel tempts guests with French cuisine as elegant as the surroundings. From April to October guests dine in the open air beside manicured gardens. From November to March, the winter restaurant cozies things up with paneled walls, gilt accents, and hand-painted panels. Chef Eric Frechon received his third Michelin star in 2009. 7 Guy Savoy
Located near the Etoile, this celebrated restaurant serves contemporary haute cuisine in a space dressed with accents of stone, glass, leather, multi-hued woods and modern art. Iced, poached oysters, sea bass with spices, and grilled pigeon are just a few of the favorites, and 800 fine wines admirably highlight the menu. After a wonderful dinner, indulge in an out-of-this-world dessert, fashioned of chocolate, fruit or some other delicacy. Your palate will thank you for the pleasure. 6 Pavillon Ledoyen
Nestled in a historic pavilion located off the Champs-Elysées near place de la Concorde and surrounded by greenery, this dining room boasts delicious meals by chef Christian Le Squer. The credo here is refinement. Highly recommended as a starter is les coquillages, an herbed risotto dish topped with lobster, langoustines, scallops and grilled ham. Main dishes include turbot with truffled mashed potatoes, and sole sautéed in sage butter and topped with finely sliced cucumber and fresh ginger. Lunch menu €88, tasting menus €199, €299. 5 Relais Louis XIII
Considered a rare value, chef Manuel Martinez serves generous portions of classic French cuisine, including chilled crab salad and turbot in herbs. Creme caramel in fromage blanc is particularly exquisite, and the wine list includes some great buys. METRO: Odéon/St-Michel (line 4) (01 43 26 75 96)

4 A. Beauvilliers
There's nothing understated about this romantic restaurant's focus on creature comforts. Spectacular floral arrangements add delicacy to the rich decor, which is already opulent with gilt-framed mirrors and exquisite art work. Tables feature a king's ransom of silver, china, and crystal, but they're aptly set for Beauvillier's traditional cuisine. Great wines are an added perk. METRO: Lamarck-Caulaincourt (01 42 55 05 42)

3 Jules Verne
No other Parisian restaurant can boast the views that Jules Verne does, especially since it's located 400 feet up in the Eiffel Tower! Chef Alain Ducasse ensures fabulous French fare such as crab in light shrimp sauce and swordfish with potato puree and caviar. The wine list is equally superb, and an English-speaking sommelier is on hand to answer any questions you may have. The decor is techno-like, thanks to a black glossy interior. 2 Le Petit Bordelais
Chef Philippe Pentecôte's love affair with food find roots in his formative years in Saint Emilion, where his parents owned a winery, and his knack for creative cuisine was seasoned by stops at some of Paris' top kitchens. His cozy restaurant serves fabulous, inventive dishes at reasonable prices. Mouth-watering delicacies include thick-cut perch with Madras curry, wood pigeon with stuffed cabbage and entrecote with Bordeaux sauce. 1 Les Ambassadeurs
Les Ambassadeurs offers top-flight dining on several fronts. Overlooking the place de la Concorde and the National Assembly, the restaurant has one of the best views in the city. Mirrored walls, chandeliers, crystal, silver, fresh roses, and a heavenly painted ceiling grant a luxury seldom seen but often remembered.
