If you have children to entertain, there are plenty of fun activities in Atlanta to keep them from being bored. Start your day off at the Children's Museum if you have a child who's interested in the arts and puppetry. They'll find lots to entertain them for a couple of hours. If you have older children, they may be more interested in heading to Fernbank Museum. Here, they can see many of the dinosaurs and take in an IMAX movie.
After a few hours at the museum, head to a park for some exercise. Atlanta's Piedmont Park is our version of New York's Central Park. Here, kids can have lots of space to run around and play, expending lots of extra energy. Go roller-blading, fly a kite or have a relaxing picnic. Alternatively, if the weather happens to be warmer, a trip to Centennial Olympic Park may be more fun. During the summer months, the water fountains are on and kids love running and splashing in the fountains.

Stop for some chow at any one of these numerous spots kids will love. The Varsity is an Atlanta classic with burgers and dogs. Don't miss out on an orange shake. For slightly healthier eating, visit the Flying Biscuit. With numerous locations throughout Atlanta, there's lots of funky decor that will appeal to kids.
Continue your day with a trip to Wired and Fired in the Virginia Highlands. They can pick from and paint over 200 pieces of pottery. The staff at Wired and Fired will take your finished products and fire them in the kiln, making them food, dishwasher and microwave safe, so kids can have their own special bowl, plate or cup.
No child should visit Atlanta and miss out on the Georgia Aquarium. There are plenty of fun sections to the GA Aquarium including the interactive pools where kids can actually touch the sea life. They'll also want to spend a fair amount of time in the gigantic viewing room where sea creatures of all kinds take center stage.
As the day starts to wind down, kids will enjoy relaxing while watching a good old-fashioned drive-in movie. So, take them to the Starlight Drive-In. If they haven't already eaten dinner, your gang can pick up some food to bring with you as the theatre allows cars to bring food and drinks in with them.
