Brasstown Resort and Spa is located in Young Harris, GA, just two hours north of Atlanta. Owned by the state of Georgia, the nearly twenty-year-old resort is the brainchild of former Governor Zell Miller, a Young Harris native. The sprawling grounds on which Brasstown Resort sits are immaculately well-kept. Upon entering, you'll be assisted by the friendly staff. They are eager to help in any way possible and make your stay a pleasure.

There is lots to see and do for both couples and families. If you want to keep active, there's swimming, golf, horseback riding and hiking trails all over the resort.
However, taking it easy and relaxing can be soothing too. The rocking chairs that surround the outside areas offer stunning views of the Brasstown area. If you visit during the colder months, lounge by the fire with a drink from the bar and take in the stunning vistas in the well-appointed lobby.

Also included onsite are two restaurants. The main restaurant is more upscale for dinner and features a breakfast buffet during peak seasons. The house special at dinner is the Georgia trout prepared with a pecan crust and finished with an orange sauce. Breakfast entrees are around $10. The other restaurant, Brassies, is more casual, serving mostly sandwiches and is a perfect choice for lunch.

Definitely make sure a visit to the spa is on your agenda. The staff couldn't be more attentive or adept at what they do here. Whether you enjoy a massage, facial or mani-pedi, allow extra time to enjoy the relaxation room, complete with high-end teas and snacks. Also enjoy the outdoor deck with hot tub. Make sure to bring your swimsuit as there is an indoor pool and hot tub as well.
