10BEST Says

Restaurants near Philips Arena: This sleek, modish restaurant feels nothing like your typical hotel restaurant chain. Lodged within the W Atlanta-Downtown it serves global cuisine with a carnivorous twist. Steaks and meats are a major facet of the hearty menu rounded out by a selection of seafood, small plates and salads. Among the offerings are Florida stone crab, Japanese Kobe-cut steak, chicken liver pate, raw oysters and a smorgasbord of rich desserts. You'd do well to order the delightfully fluffy popovers as well. Though be warned that they're dangerously addictive. After, take a cocktail to the roof and admire aerial views of the city poolside.

Steakhouses: Clean, crisp and new, BLT Steak is located in the W Hotel downtown. The dark interiors are reminiscent of high end steakhouses. Naturally aged steaks broiled at high heat are the specialty. Order the NY Strip or the ever-popular ribeye. But definitely bring your charge card. Or better yet, visit on an expense account. This restaurant is very pricey. Their popovers, a bowl of bread that is baked and spills over the bowl when brought to the table. Great sides and desserts are available too. After dinner do spend some time expoloring the W Hotel with its rooftop pool and luxurious bar, you'll certainly be impressed.

Business Lunch: Clean-lined, monochromatic BLT Steak eschews the traditional dark interiors of a steakhouse and adds in a dose of bistro accessibility and downtown style. Exceptional American and Japanese cuts of beef are the focus, naturally aged and broiled at high heat. Go for a NY strip with bearnaise sauce or a flavorful, bone-in rib-eye. Poultry, veal, and seafood are also available, along with seasonal specials. A host of rich sides and decadent desserts contribute to a full meal, and a raw bar delivers ocean-fresh shellfish to aficionados. Moreover, a broad selection of wines fit the restaurant's stellar reputation, and while meals don't come cheap, they do come with high praise.
