Barbecue: Just chill to live blues and munch on barbecue. Fat Matt's Rib Shack has rib sandwiches, chicken and pork. Pulled pork, chicken, ribs on the bone, or a combination of chicken and pork, for those of you who like both. The rum baked beans puts a different spin on the usual banked beans. You can also try Brunswick Stew, a Georgia specialty. True to Georgia tradition, peanuts are on the menu. Oh, and there's pie -- sweet potato and pecan. The food is so good, that it can get a bit crowded in Fat Matt's but it's worth the wait.
Take Out: This comfortable BBQ joint serves the juiciest, most flavorful ribs in town. There's no doubt about it: Matt's is a messy, fun, eat-with-your hands kind of place where you can order a big slab of ribs, a side of slaw and a big glass of sweet tea. You'll also find a variety of different beers. It's a lively place to stop at for a quick bite of lunch (despite the crowds, tables usually become available quickly), but be warned: Fat Matt's maintains an unofficial dress code — ties are permitted only if their knots are loosened. Outdoor dining is available, and live blues or jazz is often featured in the evening.
