Asian: Family-run and managed, this Thai establishment is among the city's best. Its soothing decor is the perfect backdrop for spectacular cuisine that provides a true sense of what Thai fare should be. Fragrant spices and fresh vegetables conspire in dishes that create complex, but not overpowering, flavors. Try the curried fish cakes for a sampling of the kitchen's skill; lobster tail and spicy lamb are also fantastic options. At lunch they offer a bento box style lunch. This is a nice option for nearby workers to get in and out in a hurry. Don't miss out on desserts as their house made ice creams are truly fantastic.
Thai: Tamarind Seed is a long time favorite restaurant of many Atlanta residents. Originally located in a small renovated house, the restaurant moved several years ago to its new home in the Colony Square shopping in Midtown. It is a favorite of the Midtown office workers for lunch and gets a bit more sexy for the evening crowd. There really isn't a bad dish to be found. Lamb and Lobster are fragrant and spiced well. But if beef is your favorite, they do those extremely well too. Of course you can't go wrong with any of the curries either, which show of the true Thai flavor.
Local Expert Malika Harricharan Says:
Asian: "Tamarind Seed is the sister restaurant to Naan Thai Fine Dining. If you'd like some of the best Thai without paying the extremely high prices, head here."
Thai: "Family-run and managed, this Thai establishment is among the city's best."
Best for Asian Because: While this restaurant is located inside the W Midtown Hotel, it is popular with both guests and Atlanta residents.
