Savannah's famed Broughton Street has its fair share of sugary treats, from the insanely good ice cream at Leopold’s to the decadent chocolate truffles at Chocolat by Adam Turoni. If you’re craving a different kind of sugar fix–the kind that won’t do any damage to your waistline–then head to Broughton Street’s newest shop, Sugar Works.
Sugar Works offers a variety of hand-made bath and body care products, including its signature item, sugar scrub. Each container of Sugar Works’ scrub is blended with sugar and organic oils and guaranteed to leave your skin soft, smooth and moisturized. Several pre-made containers are available for purchase, but if you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for, you can customize your own in a matter of minutes.
Scents available include bergamot truffle, brown sugar citrine, French lilac, pink rosewater, Isis and more. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you can even try jelly doughnut or happy birthday, which evokes the smell of birthday cake.
The shop also has a nice selection of elegant soaps, dry oil body mists, body glosses, bath soaks and more. If you can resist the urge to hoard the scrubs and other products for yourself, they make lovely gifts.
The staff is courteous and goes out of its way to explain how the products work. If you’re still curious and want to learn more about the benefits of sugar, Sugar Scrubs’ website is a great resource.
