Other Recommended Restaurants: No trip to Savannah is complete without a visit to Leopold's, the city's oldest and best ice cream parlor. Founded in 1919 by the Leopold brothers, three immigrant brothers from Greece, the restaurant is now run by Stratton Leopold, a Hollywood movie producer whose film posters line the walls of this Broughton Street staple. All flavors are made on premises using all-natural ingredients and are based on the original recipes created by the Leopold brothers. Regular selections on the ice cream menu include coffee chocolate chip, pistachio, chocolate raspberry swirl and rum raisin, among others. Unique seasonal specials range from rose petal to Chatham artillery punch sorbet. The restaurant also offers a lunch menu featuring standard soups, salads and sandwiches.
