From November 1, 2012 and for a week every month following, Aigli restaurant in Athens presents a gastronomic itinerary around Greece, with the best of local produce and specialties. Collaborating with well known chefs and producers from different regions of the country, traditional recipes are served, with a special menu including four dishes with three glasses of wine at the price of 25 euros per person.
The official first presentation for each week, will be made by Food Editor Eleni Psychouli and the first itinerary, in November, is to Karditsa with Tasoula Koufopoulou, chef and owner of Apomero restaurant, with a menu including locally produced cheese from the Gaitanides family.
For December 4-12, 2012, the specialties of Northern Greece, are presented, with chef Nikos Fotiades, and a menu based on local produce with quail, homemade pasta and black boar. For January 8-14, 2013, it is the turn of Olympos with mountain recipes, game and other lesser known delicacies of the region.
This concept is a wonderful idea for the public to taste and learn more about local produce and specialties from all over Greece, curated by expert chefs and offering a gastronomic panorama of many regions. A unique activity for food lovers and all those who consider culinary experience important and pleasurable.
