Georgina Skalidi is a talented young Greek designer, whose clutch bags are fashion statements in Athens.
After studying fashion design in Paris, Skalidi decided to live in Athens and for some years worked as a fashion editor in various women’s magazines. Her decision to start her own line of clutch bags was the result of her desire for personal creation.
Her apprenticeship with well-known artisan Haris, who since the '80s has manufactured accessories for many Greek designers, was an important step in obtaining the necessary knowledge to start her own line. Georgina created her own technique on bag manufacturing, using quality materials, combined with a fresh, postmodern vintage aesthetic.

Her basic reference point is the vintage style which she prefers, de-structuring the classic design and creating something new. Using a geometrical approach, she cuts, changes and creates. Her inspiration is experiential, springing from the changes in her life. Holding the leather in her hands, she can express the feelings of her own reality, molding all her designs. Skalidi doesn’t follow the classical rules of design because she approaches the bags she creates like a kind of sculpture.
Georgina’s bags and ballerina shoes are sold in her boutique ‘Ma Chambre’ in Kolonaki; in Chania, Crete; and also in select shops in Greece and Cyprus.
