Il Consigliere opened not long ago in Athens on a quiet side street very close to the old Parliament. The idea behind the locale it to offer a nightlife and all-day spot in vintage style, reminiscent of previous decades. The overall atmosphere is one of quality and attention to detail, starting from the tiny glass of sparkling water served with the espresso and continuing with the literature-inspired menu and verses by Dante on the wall.

At Il Consigliere, one feels at ease: it's easy to imagine that you're visiting a friend's house for a drink or coffee. The decor is varied and interesting, combining vintage elements chosen with care with casual mix-and-match tips, both in the furniture and the glassware. Special attention has been given to the lighting, which is atmospheric without being dim. Tiffany lamps and an impressive candelabra cleverly placed enhance the comfortable, warm style.
Il Consigliere is open from the morning for coffee and snacks. During lunch, they serve delicious stuzzichini, cheese and hams, specialties with garlic, cheese from Reggio Calabria in a surprising combination with a special sauce with jam and peppers, tramezzini and bruschette.
Some of the favorite dishes on the menu are the delicious peppers filled with tuna and the sweet and sour onions. Also, they offer warm piadine with a variety of fillings: prosciutto and pineapple, pesto, mozzarella and white truffle oil, provolone and fig or mango chutney. Definitely try the warm bruschette with tomato and basil, or anchovies and olives. Limoncello or amaro is ideal for a digestive and Sicilian canolli for dessert.
In the evening, the atmosphere changes, with easy talking music, all-time classic jazz music, drinks, cocktails, wine by the glass and cold dishes. Sitting comfortably at a table or the bar, chatting with friends and enjoying a drink are what regular customers prefer.
