Mahina Boutique isn't your run-of-the-mill mainstream store. It's unique. The clothing and accessories are somehow casual, elegant and simple all at once.
Voted Maui's best boutique by local media for seven years in a row says something, doesn't it? But it's not exclusive to Maui. All total, the brand features nine locations on four different Hawaiian islands.
The good news is that Mahina is actually quite affordable: there's nothing in the shop that is priced so that it's out of reach. From flowing dresses and soft, long cotton skirts to simple tank tops, gorgeous earrings and hot shoes, Mahina can fulfill the need for a single item to go out or even the need to revamp an entire wardrobe.

The owners have said they wanted shopping at the boutique to feel like entering a best friend's closet, where customers find a perfectly edited collection of soft, breezy sundresses; wearable tops; and subtle-yet-striking accessories, none of which are overpriced.
Mahina even offers a thorough collection of footwear. From sassy boots (maxing out around $50) to casual and cute sandals and heels, it's as much of a go-to shop for shoes as it is for clothing.
Visitors staying in Waikiki who find themselves in need of retail therapy can check out the Mahina there, which is just a short walk from most of Honolulu's resorts. This shop is neighbor to many other shops, galleries and places to eat.
Mahina's newest location is in Haleiwa on the North Shore, where it makes a home in a new cluster of amazing galleries and boutiques. At this location shoppers can take advantage of other great Haleiwa stops like Surf N Sea, Guava Shop, and Global Creations. And for those venturing through the east side, Mahina can be found in the heart of Kailua.
Mahina has made a sustainable choice by offering reusable cloth shopping bags with each purchase, as an added bonus.

Mahina's goal to provide feminine clothing with understated elegance has come to fruition, thanks to the owners Jody Curtin and Joe Wilmot, a married couple.
Building their dream boutique has been a labor of love for the pair. Curtin does all of the buying for the boutique, and maybe it's her tradition of starting each day with yoga that does lend an air of simplicity to the clothing.
Mahina's clothing is perfect for almost any occasion in Hawaii, from yoga to beachwear to a gorgeous dress for a dinner date.
