Surfer, the Bar is the newest place for nightlife on Oahu's North Shore, and since its opening has gained a loyal following and is always full of locals and visitors. Named after Surfer Magazine who has stake in the bar, it's a restaurant/bar/lounge/night club with surf decor.

The extensive menu offers everything from appetizers to full meals and offers upscale "bar food" such as seafood starters, pizza, burgers, steak and salads. Talented bartenders at the full bar can make just about anything you can dream up, and the happy hour menu offers cocktail specials and deals on food.
A wall completely made of glass offers a head-on ocean view, and a couch area on the top levels serves as the lounge area. Certain nights are dedicated to scheduled functions: Tuesday is open mic night, Wednesday is for "Talk Story" (when a person from the surf industry or professional surfer is interviewed onstage), Monday is Hawaiian music night with no cover charge for live music, and Sunday is karaoke night, free of charge.

Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays always have changing entertainment and usually have a big-name live music act or a DJ. Fashion shows, fundraisers, and even comedians can all be found on stage at Surfer. On weekends, last call is usually around 1:30 am, making it one of the only late night places anywhere on the island outside of Honolulu. Check the website for current events.
