Kauai's fertile soil and warm climate is known for growing an abundance of diverse produce, and Monkeypod Jams, a new small business crafting gourmet jams, jellies, marmalades and curds, are utilizing the island's creations for their own. They're making artisan jams out of an array of local ingredients and flavors, and the jars of jams can now be found in many shops around the island.

While Kauai's sun and surf can be enjoyed all year long, the availability of these jams change with the season, keeping jam lovers - and taste buds - on their toes. Unique flavors include ginger starfruit jelly, lemquat marmalade, pineapple mint jam, spiced tomato jam, white pineapple jam and many more; the list goes on.

The small company is contributing to Kauai's venture towards a sustainable future (currently, the island imports over 85 percent of its products) by buying produce only from local farmers and whatever is in season. They make the tasty creations in their kitchen right in Koloa on the south side and the jars, which make great gifts and souvenirs, can be found in shops or on their website.
You'll be touring all over the island while you're on Kauai, but sampling Monkeypod Jams is a culinary adventure.
