As you drive south on Lake Shore Drive, The Drake greets your eyes as a symbol of Chicago's old-fashioned definition of luxury. The hotel stands at the northern gate of the famed Magnificent Mile, an icon of elegance since opening in 1920. Whether you're planning on shopping or sightseeing, this Gold Coast location gives you easy access to the best of the Windy City. Ask for a lake-facing room for a fabulous view of the Lake Michigan sunrise.

Seasonal Celebration

No matter what time of year it is, this hotel gives guests a reason to celebrate. In the summer, The Drake gives guests easy access to Oak Street Beach and the lakefront trail that winds along the Chicago shoreline. In the winter, The Drake dresses up the lobby for the holidays with a giant Christmas tree.

Dining at The Drake

While there are plenty of 4-star Chicago restaurants nearby, you don't even need to the leave the hotel for one of the city's most timeless dining destinations: the Cape Cod Room. A member of the Fine Dining Hall of Fame, the Cape Cod Room offers a menu of some of the most succulent seafood available in Chicago.

Be sure to look at the bar while you're there. Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe dined at The Drake's well-known restaurant, and they left their mark for history to see. The two carved their initials into the bar.
