While this little wood-paneled Thai restaurant hits all the Americanized standards, it has a few surprises up its sleeve. Spoon Thai's (not-so) secret translated menu gives diners access to truly authentic Thai dishes. Fresh, pungent spices are the norm, and it's hard not to want to try something off the beaten path: the kaeng paa is a stir-fried curry with eggplants, bamboo shoots, hot pepper and basil leaves, or you can try the khao khluk ka-pi (shrimp-paste rice served with sweet pork, slivers of green apple and red onion).
