The Hassler Hotel near Rome's Trinita dei Monti gets a new look — Photo courtesy of AverainEvery now and then, you need to do a little "spring cleaning." Let's face it. The competition among luxury hotels in Rome is fierce. So, periodically, hotels have to come up with something new and innovative in order to stay competitive and at the top of their game.
That being said, the Hassler Hotel is gearing up for a new look this spring. A favorite among stars like Audrey Hepburn, Ava Gardner, Grace Kelly, Tom Cruise, Robert DeNiro and Jennifer Lopez, renovations began in January 2012 for the upscale hotel.
More specifically, renovations of the lobby area will completely transform the space to create an even cleaner, organized and sophisticated look. As opposed to the lobby's current setup, a separate concierge and reception desk, guests will arrive to a stream-lined single desk where they can check in and ask for information.
The Hassler Hotel has also decided to redo the entire Sala Vietri common area, the Salone Medici meeting room and the open-air Palm Court garden restaurant and bar. The hotel administration feels that the renovations will make these spaces contemporary and efficient, while maintaining the Hassler’s classical nature and tradition of elegance.
The 2012 renovations follow the recent unveiling of the newly revamped and ultra-extravagant Penthouse Suite. It features an outstanding 160-square-meter terrace that vaunts spectacular views of Roman rooftops and monuments.
