Other Recommended Restaurants: The pink camellia is back. After nearly three months of renovations - and close to three years of legal wranglings over the right to continue to use the restaurant's trademark, name and logo, the Camellia Grill is back in business in the French Quarter. The bustling, counter-style diner in the heart of the French Quarter seats 42 and has long been a staple for visitors and locals alike. Locally owned by Hicham Khodr, who also has The Gumbo Shop and the original Camellia uptown, the diner-like eatery dishes hearty breakfasts, burgers, sandwiches and po-boys. Unlike its counterpart on Carrollton Avenue, Camellia Grill's French Quarter location also serves wine, beer, mimosas and Bloody Marys. The food is nothing fancy but fresh and tasty, just the ticket if you're recouping from a night of overindulgence. The service alone is worth taking a seat at the counter - the servers cut up and joke non stop - ensuring that every plate of eggs or cheeseburger comes with a show.
