The burgeoning shopping experience in Chestnut Hill takes you into the suburbs of Boston, along Route 9, to a lifestyle center like no other: The Street.
With 45 stores and restaurants, all accessible through exterior walkways and common areas, there's much shopping to be done at The Street, but the area comes alive with extras that make shopping more about the experience than just what you buy.
Shopping highlights include specialty stores and boutiques that carry exquisite merchandise for adults who want to stay current, no matter their personal style. Ku De Ta, a locally owned boutique, offers the most amazing finds for trendsetting women.
Meanwhile Portobello Road, also locally owned, features an eclectic mix of funky finds for the home, as well as women's wear.

Adults aren't the only ones who will get clothes to dress to impress at The Street; kids will also find stores well-suited to their tastes.
Your kids will have you filling bags with what they need and want at Carousel Kids. Here, the focus is on stylish items your kids will love, making you (and them) happy – especially since you won't find your kids dressed exactly like every other kid in their class.
If you're looking to take a break from shopping, The Street has the ultimate spot for a "quickie" spa treatment: Skoah. At Skoah, a chain of facial emporiums that has several Boston area locations, they take your skin care – and your time –seriously. Sign up for a "personal training session" for your skin, and leave Skoah refreshed, with the products needed to maintain your glow in hand.

Once your face is refreshed, make your way to Be Styled for a little more pampering. This blow dry bar will give you the blow out of your dreams and have your hair ready for your night out.
The Street always has a few great, seasonal attractions to share with shoppers. October offers a Halloween party complete with autumn décor, complimentary Trick-or-Treat tote bags, gourmet pop-up bars with candy apples and hot cider and even a doggy costume contest, live music, spooky storytelling, arts and crafts, holiday decorating demonstrations, wine tastings and raffles.
December is all about the holidays, including a holiday light installation entitled Luminescence by artist Pandora LaCasse. You can enjoy the beauty of the lights while strolling from store to store or peering out the store windows while you browse the goods for sale.
Early December also brings an annual event sure to become a tradition: a shop arts and stroll event, a collaboration with the Newton Art Alliance. Shoppers will find their fill of local artists and musicians while enjoying a piping hot cup of hot chocolate and other treats for a very special and local shopping experience.
And summer at The Street finds locals enjoying music and exercise on their green spaces.
The Street features Third Thursday Boutique + Beauty Block parties. This monthly series is excellent for shoppers who are seeking amazing perks and sales. This festive evening for shoppers runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and visitors find live music on The Green and perks like gifts with purchase, free mini facials, champagne and chocolate, dry styling and sales. Many stores offer 10 to 25% off.
Ample free parking behind the center makes getting to The Street easy and lingering welcome. Because once you've shopped, seen and styled yourself to your heart's content, you can make your way to the movie theater or to one of the excellent restaurants that call The Street home.
