Cruise ships are a great vacation option, although passengers are often given limited time to explore each port. Given the time constraints, it's no surprise that Cabo San Lucas has proved such a popular stop for Carnival, Celebrity, Crystal, Disney, Holland America, Nautilus Explorer, Norwegian, Princess, Royal Caribbean and other top cruise lines. Not only does this Land's End destination boast a compact downtown area perfect for an afternoon of shopping and sightseeing, but a gorgeous bay and golden sand beaches are readily accessible by water taxi from the cruise ship terminal. Likewise, visiting couples won't have to run to find a bit of romance. Tandem activities and spectacular views are never more than a few minutes away.

If you're looking for a bit of romance, what better place than Playa del Amor? Also known as Lover's Beach, this privileged stretch of sand is located near all the granite rock formations at Land's End, and showcases terrific views of Médano Beach and downtown Cabo San Lucas. Lover's Beach is only accessible by water, and rather than taking a ten minute panga (water taxi) ride, sporting couples will want to sign up for a tandem kayak trip from High Tide Sea Expeditions. The kayaks are put in the water near the old cannery, a short walk from the cruise ship terminal, and vacationing lovers can enjoy the scenic route to Lover's Beach, with plenty of time to admire the tranquil waters of the Sea of Cortez and local landmarks like El Arco (Cabo's signature monument), Neptune's Finger, Pelican Rock and the local sea lion colony.
Enterprising couples may want to enjoy a romantic picnic at Lover's Beach, in which case a stop at Tio Guid's Deli for supplies is highly recommended. If you walk through the gap in the rocks at Lover's Beach you'll find yourself on a slightly larger beach staring out at the Pacific Ocean. This is Divorce Beach, and despite the rather unromantic moniker, it's one of the most beautiful vantage points in Los Cabos. Be aware, however, that swimming is dangerous in the Pacific. Stick to swimming and snorkeling in the Sea of Cortez.

Don't eat too much during your picnic at Lover's Beach. The most romantic setting in Los Cabos also serves delicious Italian favorites and generous helpings of the fresh local seafood. Located in the Tourist Corridor that connects Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, Sunset da Mona Lisa boasts incredible views of Land's End and the Sea of Cortez. Cruisers may not be able to stay for the colorful sunset, but there will be ample time for hand holding, kisses and Scialatielli ai Frutti di Mare, a traditional pasta served with clams, squid, shrimp and cherry tomatoes. Feel free to ask the sommelier about appropriate wine pairings.
If you'd prefer to celebrate you Mexican holiday with a traditional Mexican meal, Los Tres Gallos is a 5-10 minute walk from the Marina. Although it lacks the stunning seaside views of Sunset da Mona Lisa, the charming courtyard setting and incredible regional cuisine make this downtown restaurant a perfect spot for a romantic afternoon repast.
