Port of Call Purchases: 10 Convenient Shopping Options for Cruise Ship Visitors

Cruise ship visitors to Cabo San Lucas will find plenty of shopping options. Not only is the cruise ship terminal conveniently located within easy walking distance of the Marina and downtown tourist districts - both neighborhoods that showcase a high concentration of shops, galleries and boutiques - but local merchants recognize that these port of call visits are very important to their livelihoods, and go out of their way to help tourists by answering questions and providing guided tours of their places of business.

Cabo San Lucas has a surfeit of certain types of shops, particularly pharmacies and cigar and jewelry stores. It's hard to walk a block without finding at least one example of each. Flea market style outdoor shops are also common, and can be found on the Marina and along the downtown shopping corridor. The most convenient shopping options for visitors, however, are larger malls like Plaza Bonita, Puerto Paraíso and Luxury Avenue. All three are centrally located on the Marina, and provide easy access to a variety of goods and services, from pharmacies, restaurants and coffee shops to resort clothing shops and swimwear and sunglasses boutiques.

For those in need of cameras, batteries and memory cards, OXXO stores may also be found on virtually every block. OXXO is a sort of Mexican version of 7-11, so these ubiquitous stores are likewise perfect places to pick up water, soft drinks and sunblock. A duty free Liverpool store is also convenient to the Marina, at Plaza Bonita, and offers quality brands for cameras and computers.
