Eating gluten free doesn't mean you have to give up the things you love. Yearning for pizza, pastries, bread, brownies or cake? Gluten-free diners can still enjoy all of these at Las Vegas' many gluten-sensitive restaurants. And if you think gluten-free means giving up taste, these restaurants will give you a pleasant surprise.

Many Las Vegas restaurants now carry separate gluten-free menus, or designate which items on their menus are gluten-free. Always ask when being making reservations or being seated, and in most cases the restaurant will be glad to point out gluten-free options if they’re not already clearly noted. Finding restaurants with baked goods like pizza and desserts sometimes takes a little extra homework, but in Las Vegas, gluten-free options are popping up everywhere.

Nothing says "Las Vegas" like a delicious dessert treat filled with alcohol, and Sin City Cupcakes embodies that thought. There's no physical store to visit, but they deliver throughout Las Vegas within 48 hours of an order, which you can place online. These very special, alcohol-infused cupcakes come in three sizes and a wide variety of flavors. The alcohol is in fillings and frostings. Gluten-free is only one of a selection of customizations which come at a nominal extra charge. If you're planning a special occasion, like a birthday or a party, Sin City has options on the online order form for sprinkles and candles. Great Grubbing is a locally owned and operated 100% gluten-free cafe and bakery in Henderson. The eatery strives to provide customers with a dining experience in a place that feels like home. You'll find a display case stuffed with cheesecakes, mini muffins, donuts, whoopee pies, vegan desserts and more. They offer white bread and burger buns that are gluten-free, vegan, dairy, nut, egg and soy free. Great Grubbing also offers an organic coffee bar and all natural protein smoothies. The constantly changing menu offers breakfast selections, sandwiches, salads, pre-made rice bowls and even pizza. Vegan and vegetarian options and alternatives are also always available.

For a wide variety of food, it's hard to beat a buffet The numerous types of food available at the Aria's buffet include gluten-free pizza as well as a wide selection of fresh seafood, tandoori and salads. Let the server know you're looking for gluten-free dishes and they'll be happy to help you, or the chef may even come and show you other gluten-free options that are available. Aria's buffet offers a tempting array of dishes that will suit guests who can eat gluten and those who can't. The Buffet at Aria won't be the cheapest buffet you'll find, but the quality of food is worth the cost. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served Monday through Friday, brunch is offered on the weekends, and a gourmet dinner is served Friday through Sunday.

Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville was inspired by the singer's music and love of the beach, and its fun-loving atmosphere fits in well on the Las Vegas Strip. The three-level restaurant has six bars and live entertainment, plus a great view of the Strip. Margaritaville's easy-going atmosphere is great for casual meals and drinks. The restaurant offers a gluten-free menu that includes a cheeseburger, chicken sandwich, fish sandwich and a brownie sundae sure to satisfy anyone's sweet tooth. The restaurant is located inside the Flamingo and serves from breakfast until 2 or 3 a.m. Even if you're not a "Parrothead" you'll find plenty to like about Margaritaville.

This award-winning casual restaurant is known for its fresh fare, which includes wood-grilled fish, seafood and chops, as well as its innovative sauces and indulgent desserts--many of which are gluten free. Guests can ask for a gluten-free menu upon being seated, which boasts such must-try dishes as the flavorful Lily's Chicken topped with goat cheese, spinach, artichoke hearts and a lemon basil sauce. For dessert, be sure to try the rich Macadamia Nut Brownie--a flourless brownie served with raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream--or the tasty Crème Brûlée with berries and whipped cream. Both gluten-free baked treats are simply divine!

Tony Gemignani isn't an 11-time World Pizza Champion for nothing: he knows how to make pies for every taste and dietary restriction. Offering an extensive selection of gourmet pizzas--everything from California to Sicilian--this downtown pizzeria is sure to have something for everyone on its menu; there's even a separate category for gourmet gluten-free pies. Guests can choose from one of two kinds: the Gluten Free Vegetarian made with hand-crushed tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, roasted red peppers, kalamata olives, goat cheese and basil, or the Gluten Free Pancetta Gorgonzola, made with mozzarella, bacon, smoked pancetta, Gorgonzola cheese, mixed greens, agave nectar and a light balsamic vinaigrette. Both options sound so good, even gluten eaters will be tempted to try them!

3. Beau Monde Bakery

Beau Monde supplies some of the Strip's best hotels with baked goods, which says a lot about the quality of its food. This local Las Vegas bakery takes pride in using the best ingredients in small, hand-made batches of their breads, muffins and pastries. Beau Monde also makes pizza crusts, tortillas and waffles. They specialize in 100% gluten and preservative-free bakery items. Their proprietary blend of white rice flour is one of the secrets to their delicious offerings, but all of their ingredients are of superior quality. Their butter-cream is made by hand with fresh cream and traditional techniques, and they even produce their own caramel. All of this attention to detail creates delightful and delicious gluten-free baked goods.

2. Veranda

Veranda is known as one of Las Vegas' hidden gems, with a quiet location and serene interior design. Guests have the option of dining on an expansive garden terrace that overlooks the resort's lushly landscaped private pool during warmer months (generally March-December), providing an oasis of calm among the frenzy found on the Las Vegas Strip. The expansive menu offers an array of gluten-free items, and during breakfast that includes bread and waffles. The Gluten Free Sampler comes with choice of beverage, a mini gluten-free waffle, spiced apple compote, scrambled egg white with pesto vegetables, tomato compote and pear panna cotta. Diners can also ask about other gluten free options aside from those listed on the menu.

Just because you're eating gluten free doesn't mean you can't dine at one of the Strip's best restaurants. This affordable French bistro is one of many eateries in town that offers a separate gluten-free menu for guests to feast upon, including breads and desserts. In addition to expected items on the menu, like Vegetable Tagine, salmon, and filet mignon, other menu selections include favorites like the tasty Onion Soup au Gratin with Gruyère cheese and gluten-free croutons. There's no need to skip dessert here: pick from choices like Crème Brulee with burnt vanilla custard, a warm chocolate flourless cake or chocolate mousse.
