Bars on the Strip: Bringing some honky-tonk to the Vegas Strip, Gilley's has been one of the city's most popular bars since it opened at the Frontier in April 1999. When the property closed in 2007, it seemed like another Vegas favorite had gone with it, but thankfully the spirited dance hall and saloon reopened at Treasure Island in 2010. Home to the famous Gilley Girls (sexy servers donning bikinis, chaps, cowgirl boots and cowboy hats), guests can grab a genuine leather saddle seat at the long polished bar and unwind with an ice-cold beer or the saloon's signature drink, the Rattlesnake--a mix of 90-proof Jim Beam Devil's Cut, fresh lemon sour, simple syrup and rhubarb bitters mixed in an anise-rinsed glass--as they enjoy some genuine southern hospitality. After you've had a few drinks to boost your courage, do-si-do on over to the dance floor or take a ride on the mechanical bull.
Local Expert Heather Turk Says:
Bars on the Strip: "Before you start drinking, have a hearty meal at Gilley's adjoining restaurant, serving such finger-lickin' favorites as BBQ Pulled Pork and Baby Back Ribs."
Best for Bars on the Strip Because: With its sexy servers and laid-back atmosphere, it's easy to see why so many people do-si-do on over to Gilley's Saloon, Dance Hall & BBQ.
