It's a place for visitors, community artists or anyone looking to expand their creative knowledge and skills. Want to make your own cheese or paper? How about learning how to knit, crochet or shoot night photographs?
Atelier offers classes and workshops on various crafts and a wonderful store available to the public, where you can purchase unique art supplies, gifts or wedding and party items.

Atelier also has regular art shows, openings and receptions, and the place offers special classes and events during Truckee’s First Friday events each month.
The retail area also sells locally make and hand-sourced paintings, scrapbooks, cards, jewelry and found art items.
Workshops are open to the public and include classes like mozzarella making, encaustic painting, block printing, screen printing, ceramics, DSLR photography, night photography, sketchbook creation and modern calligraphy.
Classes are taught by local artists, illustrators, designers and chefs, and all supplies are included in the cost of the class. Students can even take home what they create, and classes sometimes include local beer, wine and food tastings.
Most workshops cost around $65 per person, but some drop-in classes are only around $5; they're even great for children.
Atelier’s building includes a large and well-lit area for crafts and workshops, and food workshops are held in the nearby Trokay restaurant. The staff and crew of Atelier will help you with each workshop step, and they're available for questions, too.
If you like art, also located near Atelier is Riverside Studios, where you can pick up locally made art and jewelry; the Artisan's Market Place, where local clothing, scarves and jewelry are sold; and Bespoke, where you can find unique gifts, retro-style purses and clothing, children’s books, toys and fun local art.
If you work up an appetite while making cheese, head to Moody’s Bistro & Beats for their amazing grilled cheese and tomato soup for lunch or to Pianeta Ristorante for hearty Italian cuisine in a cozy atmosphere.
Truckee is located about 20 minutes north of North Lake Tahoe. It's a historic railroad town where you can still catch the train that travels across California to the cities of Sacramento and Oakland in the Bay Area. Truckee is also located right next to the famous Donner Pass and Donner Lake.
