Get healthy in the fresh, fall mountain air of Lake Tahoe during the Granlibakken Conference Center & Lodge's annual Lake Tahoe Women's Wellness Weekend. This weekend event offers women information on how to bring together both Western medicine practices and Eastern philosophy to create their own wellbeing. The weekend will also feature speakers, workshops, food and wine.

This year's weekend events are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, and Sunday, Nov. 9. The program will begin on Saturday morning and will include community medical doctors, health professionals and fitness instructors. Attendees will be able to speak and interact with medical professionals, yoga teachers and experts on breast and brain health, aging and autoimmune disorders.
Event participants can also choose from several workshops, including "5 Tips for Fitness Success" and "Better Bone Health." The event will also feature a health fair with local vendors and even a Zumba Party on the last day. Meals are included except for the Saturday night dinner for $25.

The beautiful Granlibakken Conference Center & Lodge is located near Tahoe City, Calif., and the resort includes accommodations, a wellness center and a day spa. It's also the first resort in the Tahoe area to offer on-site/in-suite private yoga instruction for individuals, couples and groups.
For the women's wellness event, the room rate is $251.90 for both a single occupancy room and the event and a double occupancy room is only $191.95 for both the room and the wellness event. The wellness event on its own is $120 for the weekend.

Granlibakken is a Norwegian name meaning "hill sheltered by trees." The resort is family owned and located in a 74-acre plot of land near Lake Tahoe. The resort is dedicated to keeping the Tahoe area pristine and promotes awareness of the natural habitat by conserving water and energy and reducing waste throughout the resort.
Granlibakken is also home to the Treetop Adventure Park. The park consists of treetop platforms, bridges, monkey courses and various zip lines for outdoor fun.
