10 Tune-Up Cafe
Although Dave no longer owns this inexpensive, friendly restaurant, his name remains on a few menu items. Designer hamburgers and honest-to-goodness french fries are the house specialty. If you are in the mood for something a little different, the El Salvadoran owner's homemade pupusas are a favorite of those "in the know." The Tune-Up is also known for its great guacamole and chips. 9 The Pink Adobe
This three-hundred-year-old former military barracks first opened as a restaurant in 1944. Accented by fireplaces and original works of art, its multiple dining rooms are cozy and intimate. An annual art exhibit contributes to the popularity of this establishment known for its stand-out New Orleans-style Creole and New Mexican dishes. 8 India Palace

7 Tecolote Café
Food critics agree that Tecolote Café is one of the best restaurants in which to enjoy breakfast or brunch. Although Pasqual's serves great lunches and dinners, breakfast is the specialty. This place is known for its freshly baked breads and chile sauces. 4 Santacafé
This restaurant is located in the 200-year-old Padre Gallegos House and contains one of the city's most visually relaxing outdoor patios. Conde Nast and other magazines have given this restaurant many awards including the Distinguished Restaurant Award. Dine in the courtyard or in one of the sleek, simple interior rooms. 3 Plaza Café
As the oldest restaurant in Santa Fe, Plaza Café is a gathering place for those who enjoy great Southwestern food, reasonable prices, and historical folklore. 2 Coyote Café
Contemporary rooms with innovative cooking. The dining room is accented with colorful folk art and cowhide chairs.
