Owned and operated by Sami Kader (of Le Tableau fame), Lavagna serves up delicious Tuscan fare at a fraction of the price that it would cost you to eat at some of its East Village competitors. This charming little terra cotta trattoria fills up quickly with everybody from khaki-wearing yuppies to local artist-types, so it's best to arrive early if you want a table.
