This Little Italy bakery is the perfect spot to have a cup of coffee or a fantastic coffee drink while people watching from the open, glass-front café. Known for fantastic, hand-twisted loaves of bread as well as for a full assortment of cakes, pastries and cookies. 9 Mallorca Restaurant
In the trendy Warehouse District, Mallorca serves a taste of sunny Spain. The Old World ambience is relaxing, and the continental cuisine is varied. The Spanish-born chef shows his heritage in his stunning creations. Large portions of gazpacho, veal in cream mozzarella sauce and pork chops in pungent garlic sauce are served with rice, fresh vegetables and Spanish-style potatoes. 8 Karl's Inn of the Barrister's
Karl's, across the street from the courthouse and the Justice Department, is a well-known lunch hangout for judges, lawyers and other officials. The discreet booths, placed among greenery and brass, allow patrons to relax over thick deli sandwiches (such as corned beef and steak pastrami) or classics like chef's salads, burgers or old-fashioned, toasted BLTs. 7 Arabica Coffee House
Near University Circle, this is a great stop when visiting area museums. Students, professors and business professionals file into this large, converted home for breakfast, lunch, coffee or a snack at any hour. Arabica features large, comfortable rooms and any coffee drink you can imagine. An extensive selection of pastries, cookies, pies and croissants make perfect items for satisfying a sweet tooth. 4 Blue Point Grille
Set in a beautifully renovated building in the Warehouse District, Blue Point Grille is a newer entry on the restaurant scene, but it already has a loyal following. Awash in blue, the elegant interior provides a not-so-subtle reminder of the restaurant's name. The kitchen finds the freshest fish, shellfish and lobster and prepares them in innovative ways, including mussels in tomatoes and garlic and notoriously sinful lobster-mashed potatoes. 3 Nautica Queen
The Nautica Queen offers spacious decks for diners to view the Cleveland skyline while cruising along the Cuyahoga. For special occasions, the ship is a unique place to meet and eat! 2 Lola
Irresistibly trendy, this fantastic restaurant in the Tremont neighborhood has attracted an enormous amount of attention for its inventive menu and high-energy atmosphere. Sleek woods and subtle lighting characterize this powerhouse restaurant. A favorite of downtown business types, the establishment affords a perfect opportunity to extend expense accounts. Even so, the American cuisine, a skillfully updated version of comfort foods, is worth the expenditure. Pork tenderloin, roasted chicken, grilled swordfish--all come with substantial sides, each well suited to the featured entree. Seasoning is balanced, and experimentation is to be applauded.
