Historic Gettysburg is one big attraction all on its own. 2013 marked the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, filing the towns events calendar with tributes, reenactments, commemorations, dedications and reflections throughout the year. The majority of the activities you'll find in Gettysburg are Civil War-based but there are also artistic adventures and fun things for kids to do. The Explore and More Children's Museum, Mulligan MacDuffer Adventure Golf and Ice Cream Parlor add a sprinkle of variety to attractions around town. For the Civil War purists, the town is littered with more historic sites, homes, and museums than you probably have time for in one visit. Before touring the Battlefield, a must-see is the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and the Gettysburg Diorama.
