Late Night: The South Philadelphia Tap Room is a pretty damned fine establishment, there are 13 taps, local breweries and Belgian imports are strongly featured and back up by an eclectic 100 bottle selection. A long spacious bar with booths, exposed brick and garlands of white fairy lights create it's downright pleasant atmosphere, attracting a hip (but not hipper-than-thou) predominantly twenty-to thirty something crowd. The bar staff is friendly and laid back. But attentive.
To describe SPTR in a nutshell would be to call it your favorite neighborhood hangout and a high-quality beer joint wrapped together. With a couple of TVs, a seriously interesting menu, a down-to-earth urban tavern environment, and great beers from both the local and the world scenes, you can start to understand why SPTR is getting such rave reviews... Late night, the kitchen is open until 1 am with a full menu to please.
