About Lima Attractions
Lima, as any big city, has plenty of many different attractions: family friendly, fancy places, backpackers’ style, nightlife, outdoors, dining scene, shop- till-you-drop, gay-friendly, etc. But there’s certain activities and places that are pretty much a must for everyone.
First of all, let’s mention that Lima’s mild weather allows for most outdoor activities during practically all the year: this is one of the great advantages that this city has to offer.
Walking is by far the best way to discover Lima’s attractions, since most of Lima’s historic monuments are, in fact, buildings and palaces from the viceroyalty times. This way you also be able to take a glance at current Limenians’ way of life. Lima Downtown is full of history (churches, manor houses, monuments, fountains, palaces, etc.) is a great place to be discovered on foot. Just be careful and don’t show off your valuable stuff –keep it inside a backpack.
Another alternative to discover Lima’s attractions is taking the Mirabus: some of its City Tour routes include a visit to the Downtown, an excursion to the Magic Water Circuit, and a 100% Peruvian a lunch or dinner. There is also the option of visiting Costa Verde Beaches and the Pachacamac fortress ruins.
