Much of the buzz surrounding the restaurant stems from the caliber of its international culinary team, who have honed their skills at such highly regarded establishments such as elBulli, Santi, one Michelin-starred Drolma in Barcelona and Pierre Gagnaire’s Sketch.
Executive Chef Alain Devahive Tolosa spent a decade in the kitchens at elBulli and has also held prominent positions in several Michelin starred restaurants across Europe. He is joined by his former elBulli colleague, Restaurant Manager Pol Perello, who helmed the world’s most famous restaurant for 12 years, in addition to three other elBulli team members.

Catalunya’s menu promises an interesting marriage of contemporary and traditional Spanish cuisine. A variety of hot and cold tapas includes Cod Fish “Esquixda” (a typical Catalan salad of shredded cod), Jamon Iberico Croquettes and Chicken Wings “Al Ajillo”, while the “deconstructed” tortilla is a distinct nod back to the team’s days of molecular gastronomy at elBulli.
Larger dishes are no less enticing, with the Roasted Suckling Pig with Lemon Puree roasted for 12 hours to achieve a perfectly crisp skin while the meat remains tender and juicy, and the Lobster Rice featuring succulent lobster cooked in a flavorful fish broth before being finished in a Josper charcoal oven to seal in the sweetness.

To complement the renowned culinary team, award winning Mixologist Dario Nocentini will be inventing one-of-a-kind cocktails such as Stairway to Heaven, inspired by the legendary Led Zeppelin song, which was awarded the Bacardi Legacy 2012 Spanish Cocktail of the Year.
