At HoM on Upper King

Charleston's hippest burger bar pits diner against diner

Right at home on Upper King Street, HōM–one of Charleston's newest burger joints–is your friendly, neighborhood beer and burger bar with a competitive edge. A self proclaimed burger boutique and ping pong lounge, HōM brings retro diner-style decor together with house ground beef and specialty burgers, and of course, ping pong. Nosh on "balls to the wall goodness" in the form of brisket, chuck, or short rib beef burgers like the signature HōMwrecker with bacon, pepper jack cheese, a sunny side up egg, and green tomato chutney, or the impressive Couch Potato, topped with bacon ranch fries, smoked onion remoulade, red onion, and smoked Gouda.

The burgers at HōM are juicy, "keep the napkins comin'" type burgers, but they aren't your average patty. HōM 's menu includes just as many non-beef specialty burger options like The Hurricane, with duck confit, goat cheese, house made steak sauce, vanilla onion relish, and crispy onions, or The Red Dragon, with curry lamb, pad thai cucumber and carrot, and banana guacamole. Bring your herbivore friends along for one of HōM's meatless burgers made from beet and carrot, fried tofu, or falafel. Pick your poison, and whatever you choose, wash it down with a selection of beers by the can, bottle, or draft. Enjoy a fresh salad with your burger, or welcome the extra calories with hand cut french fries, crispy fried pickles or calamari on the side in exchange for a few extra rounds of ping pong. Don't miss HōM's Hot Dog Happy Hour weekdays 4-7 pm, and Sunday brunch with Burger Benedicts, $4 Mimosas, and $6 BLT Bloody Mary's. There's no place like HōM!
